Manuscript submissions are open!

Always wanted to write a children's book but unsure where to start? We can help! At Young Lights Books, we are proud to publish high quality books with Muslim representation and values. Whatever your background, we can help you inspire children everywhere with your creativity! Just follow our submission guidelines to send us your manuscript for review.

Manuscript Submission Guidelines:

To ensure that your manuscript is considered, please check that it adheres to the following guidelines:

All stories must feature a Muslim protagonist. We encourage diversity and welcome stories about characters from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Your submission must be original and unpublished (in print or online)

If submitting multiple stories, please send them as separate submissions. If they are part of a series, clearly mark them as such.

We are committed to publishing books that adhere with Islamic values.

While we appreciate Islamic themes and morals, we prefer to avoid overly instructive content filled with too many Arabic or Islamic terms.

We do not accept manuscripts that have already been storyboarded or include illustrations.

How to Submit:

Picture Books: Submit the full manuscript for review

Chapter Books: Submit one chapter (maximum 1500 words) along with a detailed outline. Full manuscripts will not be reviewed at this stage.

Send your manuscript to the email address below.

We strive to review every manuscript submitted. If you do not hear back from us within 6-8 weeks, please assume we are not moving forward with your submission.

We are unable to provide updates on individual manuscripts due to the high volume of submissions. If we are interested in publishing your book we will contact you directly.
